E-procurement can solve supply chain issues such as cost control, according to Basware.
Supply chain issues relating to the control of spending can be solved with e-procurement, it has been claimed.
Purchase to pay solutions provider Basware explains that its own products have been ranked among best-of-breed procurement vendors by industry analyst Gartner.
The analysis reports rapid uptake of e-procurement since the end of 2008 - which Basware notes offers the chance for companies to overcome supply chain issues including a lack of cost control.
Steve Muddiman, senior vice-president of global marketing at Basware, says: "E-procurement solutions gain popularity among our customers as a means to achieve control over spend."
This has occurred in response to a desire to tackle "maverick spending" and manage cash flow more effectively, he adds.
Basware recently warned, however, that some chief financial officers may be neglecting the health of their supply chains.
The company explained that some executives are failing to take supply chain issues into account when making cost savings.
