Voice systems 'raise supply chain efficiency'

Supply chain efficiency can be raised using voice systems to keep workers' hands free.
Speech-controlled systems could significantly improve performance in warehouse operations, say management specialists.
Rocket Consulting has teamed up with logistics company topsystem to launch the new topSPEECH-Lydia Pick by Voice system
The product would allow warehouse employees to hear instructions over a headset without the need to manually operate machinery.
A spokesperson for Rocket Consulting said: "This allows the picker to exclusively concentrate on picking the goods which ensures much higher standards of picking quality by avoiding mistakes."
Improved accuracy would in turn lead to much greater efficiency, he added.
The system is just one product developed by Rocket Consulting to help resolve supply chain issues.
A growing number of other add-ons called Rocket Packs are also available according to the company which, it says, can also help solve resource and efficiency problems.
Claiming to take a collaborative approach to projects, Rocket Consulting's list of former clients includes logistics giant TNT.
