Supply chain issues have been tackled at L'Oreal using voice picking.

Cosmetics organisation L'Oreal has found voice picking to be the solution to many of its supply chain issues, it has been claimed.

The Supply Chain Standard reports the success encountered by the firm when attempting to overcome supply chain issues which had previously been encountered.

Wendy Doucet, preparation and dispatch manager at L'Oreal, says: "The results were visible as soon as the solution was up and running.

"We recorded a sharp reduction in the number of errors in the preparation of orders."

In turn, she says, levels of customer satisfaction were raised with voice picking in place.

Orders are now checked in the L'Oreal warehouse through a combination of voice picking, weighing and barcodes.

Early in 2008, the supply chain magazine reported that L'Oreal was among the brands partnering as part of the Carbon Disclosure Project for Supply Chain Leadership Collaboration.

The collaboration sought to standardise information requests for climate change information throughout their supply chains as a whole.
