Russia House Adds to Hellmann
Success
Since the launch of Hellmann East Europe (Hellmann EE)
in early 2007, business has been going from strength to
strength. One of the latest success stories is the first
ever branch to be opened in Moscow. This new office is
proving to be essential for both the eastern European
and international customers of global freight forwarding
specialists, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. MD of
Hellmann East Europe Russia, Simon Gibbons, explained:
“Russia has one of the fastest growing economies in the
world and is therefore one of the most important Eastern
European countries for international trade. For this
reason, and with the backing and support of Hellmann EE,
we decided to branch out into Russia by opening our
first ever office in its largest city, Moscow.” Simon
and his team of seven personnel are working closely with
Hellmann EE’s head office in Maintel-Bischofsheim near
Frankfurt/Main to provide stronger traffic lines between
Russia and the surrounding European countries. The
office manages the overland products, which includes
full/part loads and groupage, from Europe to Russia with
customs clearance, warehouse facilities and physical
distribution to approximately 2500 cities across Russia.
In addition, Hellmann EE Russia is also offering
Hellmann Global products in air/sea/rail freight and
specialist logistics such as Hellmann automotive and
Project Shipments. Simon continued: “With Germany being
Russia’s largest trade partner, followed by the US,
China and India, we decided to offer our global
services, especially as Hellmann has very strong
networks and traffic lines in these other countries. It
means that customers have the assurance that they are
receiving a high standard and consistent Hellmann
service from the moment a shipment is sent out to when
it arrives at its final destination.” Currently, all
these services are managed at the Moscow office;
however, as business continues to expand, Hellmann EE
Russia is planning to open further offices in other key
cities, including St Petersburg.
