ND unveils new chilled store in Provence

As part of the continued development of its temperature-controlled logistics business in Europe, Norbert Dentressangle has opened a new, shared-user cold store at Miramas in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in the south of France.

Employing 65 colleagues, the new, ultra-modern 10,745m2 facility provides chilled and frozen storage for 8,500 pallets on two levels, one underground. Boasting the latest equipment and technology, the site’s refrigeration system employs natural CO2 gas in line with Norbert Dentressangle’s commitment to sustainable development.

The new facility is strategically located close to Norbert Dentressangle’s existing cold store in Salon-de-Provence, in order to enhance the company’s service to customers in the South of France. Across the two sites, Norbert Dentressangle operates 160,000 m3 of frozen storage space over 21,000 m2.

The Miramas site will serve around 85 customers, providing a complete frozen storage and distribution service to around 1,500 delivery points from Perpignan to Monaco.

Across Europe, Norbert Dentressangle operates 2,220 refrigerated vehicles and 53 chilled and frozen sites in 12 countries, with combined storage capacity of 4 million m3. The company’s temperature-controlled storage and distribution business generated sales of more than €450 million in 2010.
