Bedfords delivers new Next Day parcel service
British national logistics provider, Bedfords Transport, has launched a parcel delivery service in partnership with Ex-Trak Intelligent Parcel Solutions.
Utilising its expertise and nationwide network Bedfords will run the service direct from its website www.bedfordstransport.co.uk.
A Bedfords vehicle will make daily parcel collections with customers able to track and trace their parcels online. The parcel will then be processed and passed onto Ex-Trak’s delivery network. A fully comprehensive customer support service will be available.
The delivery network already comprises the best next day parcel organisations in the UK including DHL, UK Mail, City Link and UPS, who will also supply a comprehensive international service.
Ex-Trak is a web-based service that operates through associates’ own sites to offer a total delivery service to customers. The service manages the sending of every consignment including online label creation, real-time tracking, margin analysis and billing information.
Bedfords adds the strength of its national network to Ex-Track along with its outstanding record for reliability. Business Development Manager, Roy Redihough will take on the role of dedicated Account Manager for the service giving customers one point of contact.
Redihough commented: “The parcel service is new to Bedfords and will be an extra string to the company’s bow. It is an ideal use of our extensive network and a service that can add value for both existing and new customers, especially those looking for a cost effective yet reliable carrier.”
Bedfords is a major shareholder and founder member of the PalletFORCE network and can offer nationwide distribution for single pallets through to double deck articulated vehicle loads.
Headquartered in Leeds, the company currently has more than 130 employees and a fleet in excess of 70 from 7.5 tonne rigids to 44 tonne articulated vehicles.
